Billericay Town Reserves 2025/26

It has been an excellent season so far for Billericay Town Reserves, with former Blues midfielder Lee Williams enjoying a fantastic first campaign in charge.

The young Blues currently sit 2nd in the Essex Senior Reserve League, three points behind leaders Bowers & Pitsea with a game in hand, and have also made strong progress in the cups, reaching the quarter-final of the Reserve Shield and the semi-final of the Len Cordell Memorial Trophy.

The Reserves have been in impressive scoring form throughout the season, netting a league-high 48 goals, and 63 in all competitions from just 19 matches, while conceding only 18 times. Highlights include 7-1 and 10-0 wins over Hutton, a dramatic last-minute 3-2 victory over Brentwood Town at New Lodge, and some strong away wins at White Ensign, Redbridge and Barking. They have also only tasted defeat twice all season, with the visit of Bowers & Pitsea to New Lodge in March shaping up to be a potential decider in the title race.

Williams took over from Martin Thurston in the summer and put together a brand-new squad full of young local talent, recently picking up the December Manager of the Month award from the Essex Senior League. His side are captained by Joe Waters, son of former Blues defender Gary, and Waters is one of several young Blues to have appeared for Danny Scopes’ first team this season.

Jack Williams, Alexander Ansell, Reiss Lowe, Burak Sabah, Joe Davis, and top scorer Jacques Lorraine have all made first-team appearances this term, continuing a pathway that has seen the likes of George Wind, Henry Lukombo and Charlie Panton progress from the reserve setup in recent seasons.

Last time out, the Reserves recorded a 4-2 win over Sawbridgeworth Town at New Lodge, with goals from Lorraine, Davis, Williams and the in-form Ibrahim Sangare, who now has six goals in nine appearances, while leading marksman Lorraine has nine in 13 this season.

Home fixtures are played on Friday nights at New Lodge, with away games split between Friday evenings and Saturday afternoons, all within Essex. Next up is a trip to Rayleigh Town on Saturday 31st January, followed by an away game at Takeley in two weeks’ time, while the next home match is Friday 20th February vs White Ensign (7:45pm KO).

Fixtures can be found via the Essex Senior League website and PA announcements on home matchdays, and with season ticket holders able to attend for free, why not come down and back the boys on a Friday night at New Lodge as they chase the title and continue their cup runs?
